The history of the rally and Boorman’s own personal experience of this great endurance test makes for an exhilarating read.

Boorman is well on his way to becoming the Michael Palin of motorbikes.

Replete with colorful characters, hair-raising action and enough raw machismo to knock over an elephant.

KLR650 Aluminum Skid Plate from Utah Sport Cycle
Reviewer: Mario Jalbert
Date Added: Friday 16 October, 2009
I think the thickness is really good. However, I had to drill the 2 front slot so that I could have more adjustment because the plate was rubbing on the left side. Don't know why, but the fit was nowhere near perfect. But after a few modification, it looks good. I have a 2008 KLR650, E model. Editor's Note: Mario didn't purchase this skid plate from us. He says it is from the same manufacturer, and of course, we believe him. Since the introduction of the Utah Sport Cycle skid plate kit specifically for the E model KLR, we've not personally encountered any fit issues. As far as we know, none of our customers have either.
The Essential Guide to Dual Sport Motorcycling

As roads become more crowded and the speed capabilities of everyday motorcycles approach those of the fastest racing machines, the desire to enjoy the simple pleasures of gathering a group of friends for an off-road adventure gets more appealing all the time. You may know of trails in your area and be aware of events you might enter, but the unknowns could be holding you back. Carl Adams has done us all a great favor by creating an encyclopedic look at dual-sporting; "Everything you need to buy, ride and enjoy the world’s most versatile motorcycles" to paraphrase the book’s cover. Malcolm Smith wrote the foreword, and you can’t ask for a higher recommendation than that. This book contains so many nuggets of wisdom, you’ll be at least a year ahead of the game by the last page. — Dave Searle

I count the moments that I’ve been able to spend in the presence of Dick Mann among the greatest experiences in my lifetime as a motorcycle enthusiast. Heck, my high school football number was even 64! So I never hesitate to unashamedly pimp Mann’s autobiography, Mann of His Time by Ed Youngblood, which is my all-time favorite motorcycle read. If you haven’t read this indepth look at a man who is truly one of the cornerstones of our sport, then you are missing out. This guy has done it all, ranking him in the company of other immortals such as Kenny Roberts and Malcolm Smith, and Youngblood’s book captures it all in brilliant narrative and period-era photos. If you’re like me, you’ll find yourself returning to read this one about once or twice a year, making Mann of His Time a timeless gift.

Chap-Ez Insulated Nylon Motorcycle Chaps
Reviewer: Joe Moore

I have worn these chaps for well over a year now and would rather wear these 10-1 over any leather chaps. They are light weight but warm in the winter and comfortable during warmer months. They are durable, water proof and store in half the room of leather chaps. I highly recomend them to anyone who wants high quality chaps.

Good isn't close, these boots are great. While a little tight at first getting on the boots are very very comfortable. I live in Seattle and ride year round. My feet stay warm and dry in the coldest and wettest conditions. They afford good protection while not draining my wallet. I recommend these to all of my friends. My wife and daughter are very happy with their Tour Master Solution Waterproof Boot too.

We are on our second pair, very comfortable in all seasons, and dry in the wet season. Only down side is water proof works both ways, so if you do a river crossing and fill your boots with water it stays there, LOL! On the sheetiron 300 river crossing we filled the boots with water, drained them out and had damp feet to the end of the ride, it was a hot ride so didn't mind the dampness. That afternoon we crumpled up some news paper and stuffed it into the boots and let it set for an hour, pulled out the damp paper and did it again, got out 90% of the water. We borrowed the hair dryer from the hotel and dropped it the boot and let it run for 1/2 hour, in an hour both boots were like new again. Love these boots.

Having worn my XD3 to Colorado and back on several dual-sport rides, it has become one of my favorite helmets. Because the helmet is comfortable, durable, multifunctional and stylish, I get to have my cake and eat it, too.
